Event Overview

Battle Axe Wollongong will play host to the inaugural NSWP&ES Games, Axe Throwing competition.

A Brief History Of The Axe And Axe Throwing

The competition will be a Two Life Playoff (like a round robin). Throwers will match up against each other, until there is a winner. If there is a drawn game, you will have to throw a Big Axe (they will be provided)  https://internationalaxethrowingfederation.com/big-axe-specifications/

There will be singles and teams events with a Gold, Silver and Bronze medal up for grab in each. Team wills be formed from registered throwers on the day with individual competition scores counting to the team total to determine the winner.

It is best to buy a Hatchet from the IATF specs, if you can, to have a good chance at competition. You are quite welcome to buy a Big Axe as well.

https://gocommando.com.au/ is an ideal place to buy both, Jay Taylor is the owner and if you ring him ask advice and tell him you are going to Throw Axes in the NSW Police Games, he will help you out.

Event Rules

The Axe Throwing Event will be held under International Axe Throwing Federation (IATF) Rules – if you’d like to read up on the IATF  https://internationalaxethrowingfederation.com/

The targets are standard IATF targets.
