Dear Competitors,

As you would be aware, we have run a number of events over the past few years and these have all been very successful. The State Government has recently restructured the oversight of boxing and have formed the Combat Sports Authority, which has meant that all sanctioning bodies have had to reapply to the CSA for approval to sanction events. Unfortunately, the Australian Boxing League has been asked to supply more information for them to obtain their sanctioning authority. This is the group that we have used previously to hold our competitions.

This information will not be relayed to the CSA until after our event on the 15th March 2015. Hence, they cannot approve our event.

We have explored possibilities with the ABA and Box Tag; however, at this late stage it will be impossible to organise an event of the high standard that we are used to. This has meant the cancellation of the NSW Police Games Boxing event; however, we anticipate that we will be running a Police Legacy boxing event towards the end of the year.

Sorry for the inconvenience, but this was totally out of our control.

All competitors will be receiving full refunds from the NSW Police Games, by the end of this week.

If anyone has any queries, please feel free to contact me.

Apologies,

Chris Schilt
President NSW Police Boxing Club
